Foxes Are Amazing

 All things stated here aren't necessarily correct. These are just based on personal findings - but the law is subject to change, and may be different in your local official's view. This means please check with a person actually in charge of the law near you to make sure you are not breaking any laws- and do not just trust this before getting a fox. Also be aware that even if in your state it's legal, it may not be legal in your area, so check for that too before getting one.

California- (All exotic animals banned.)

Florida- (Foxes allowed after getting an import permit and I believe another permit.)

Michigan- (Foxes are legal, but specific species require you to have an enclosure outside. I think requires an import permit. Not sure about species that live primarily inside.)

North Carolina- (All foxes banned.)

North Dakota-

Ohio- (Only import permit required for non-native species. (I'm not quite sure what native species require, but they aren't banned.))

Pennsylvania- (Only legal after obtaining a permit that proves you had 2 years experience with the animal prior ro recieving it. Often difficult to get, as people like to interpret the law differently and change it up on you.)

Vermont-

Virginia- All wild foxes banned. All domesticated species allowed without permit. The only fox they consider domesticated is non-wild color phases of the red fox. (Marble phase, silver phase, cross phase.) All other foxes (gray foxes, fennec foxes, swift foxes, corsac foxes, etc. are completely banned.)
